I will continue researching and perhaps something or someone will lead to me an answer as to the CD defect (and are there other examples). It is a used CD and I wonder if anyone has ever actual "heard" it. The jewel case and CD are in near mint condition. It has a gold tinge CD label side, and a well-defined track area with distinct track separations visible on reverse. The CD itself is everything you'd expect from a 1983-1984 era CD. Unfortunately, the screen just displayed a scrolled "cannot play" message (without any audio). After testing the Blu-ray player with another CD, I placed the Grusin CD in the tray and loaded it. I had never used the player for CDs-I only rip CDs and play the FLAC files digitally. The metal exercise for me was to place the CD in my Sony Blu-ray player with CD option. The CD is not recognized by any of my 3 drives (2 USB and an internal computer), nor can it be accessed using any Windows Explorer functions (the options are simply not present) on the drives. Click to expand.Good suggestion, and a nice mental exercise for me.
